My Approach
Each person is unique, and therefore I tailor my approach to each individual, drawing on evidenced-based therapeutic modalities of cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, psychodynamic and interpersonal therapy. I am trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which explores the connection between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Many of us have distorted and harmful thoughts that negatively impact our well-being, self-esteem, and functioning. For some of us, these thoughts are unconscious and others, these thoughts may be apparent and frustrating to stop. The good news is, through CBT techniques, we can work together to change your negative thought process, which ultimately improves your mood. I am also trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), which draws on mindfulness skills to be more present in your day-to-day life and find more joy in the current moment. Through this framework, I help teach skills to regulate your emotions more effectively, feel good in your social interactions with others, and tolerate discomfort.
